Grilamid
PA66 plastic raw material is translucent, white or black crystalline polymerized polyamide resin, the English name is polyamide, referred to as PA. Commonly known as nylon, it is the general name of polymers containing amide groups in the macromolecular main chain repeating units.

The main varieties of nylon are nylon 6 and nylon 66, which occupy an absolute dominant position. Nylon 6 is polycaprolactam, while nylon 66 is polyhexamethylene adipate. Nylon 66 is 12% harder than nylon 6; followed by nylon 11, nylon 12, nylon 610, nylon 612, and nylon 1010, nylon 46, nylon 7, nylon 9, nylon 13. New varieties include nylon 6I, nylon 9T and special nylon MXD6 (barrier resin), etc. There are many modified varieties of nylon, such as reinforced nylon, monomer cast nylon (MC nylon), reaction injection molding (RIM) nylon, aromatic nylon, transparent nylon, high impact (super tough) nylon, electroplated nylon, conductive nylon, flame retardant nylon, nylon and other polymer blends and alloys, etc., which meet different special requirements and are widely used as substitutes for traditional materials such as metal and wood.

Through use of additives, fillers, pigments, plasticisers, modifiers or processing aids, Grilamid products are adjusted precisely to suit customer requirements and specific applications. EMS-GRIVORY offers a very wide range of speciality grades from very flexible to highly rigid in order to always supply the optimal product.

Nylon is a large-volume engineering plastic widely used in machinery, automobiles, electrical appliances, textile equipment, chemical equipment, aviation, metallurgy and other fields.

Grilamid

Grilamid PA66 has a series of exceptional properties such as:

* Excellent mechanical properties. Nylon has high mechanical strength and good toughness.

* Good self-lubrication and friction resistance. Nylon has good self-lubrication and low friction coefficient, so it has a long service life as a transmission component.

* Excellent heat resistance. Highly crystalline nylons such as nylon 46 have a high heat deformation temperature and can be used for a long time at 150°C. After PA66 is reinforced with glass fiber, its heat deformation temperature reaches more than 250°C.

* Excellent electrical insulation properties. Nylon has a high volume resistivity and high breakdown voltage resistance, making it an excellent electrical and electrical insulation
material.

* Excellent weather resistance.

* Water absorption. Nylon has high water absorption, and the saturated water absorption can reach more than 3%. It affects the dimensional stability of the parts to a certain extent.

Grilamid

The main features of Grilamid are:
* high transparency
* good chemical resistance
* low density
* low moisture absorption
* good flexural bending strength
* high heat distortion temperature

It has plasticity. Density 1.15g/cm3. Melting point 252℃. Brittle temperature -30℃. Thermal decomposition temperature greater than 350℃. Continuous heat resistance 80-120℃, equilibrium water absorption rate 2.5%. It can resist corrosion from acids, alkalis, most inorganic salt aqueous solutions, halogenated alkanes, hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, etc., but is easily soluble in polar solvents such as phenol and formic acid. It has excellent wear resistance, self-lubrication, and high mechanical strength. However, it has high water absorption, so its dimensional stability is poor. PA66 is the variety with the highest mechanical strength and the widest application in the PA series. Because of its high crystallinity, it has high rigidity and heat resistance.
