DESCRIPTION

Grilamid

Polyhexamethylene sebacate is a resin material with low density and water absorption, excellent low temperature performance, and easy to dissolve in formic acid. Polyamide 610 has a relatively low density and lower water absorption than nylon 66 (PA66 plastic raw material) and nylon 6 (PA6) (also known as single 6 and double 6), good dimensional stability, and easy molding. The mechanical strength is close to PA66 and PA6. It can resist strong alkali and is more resistant to ordinary weak acids than double6 and single 6, but it is easily soluble in formic acid.

It can be formed by injection, extrusion and spraying. The resin needs to be dried at 80-100°C before processing, and the processing temperature range is wider than that of nylon 66. The injection molding temperature is 230-260°C and the pressure is 68.6-137.2Mpa. The mold temperature is 60-90°C and the extrusion molding temperature is 225-270°.

Through use of additives, fillers, pigments, plasticisers, modifiers or processing aids, Grilamid products are adjusted precisely to suit customer requirements and specific applications. EMS-GRIVORY offers a very wide range of speciality grades from very flexible to highly rigid in order to always supply the optimal product.

Grilamid grades are amorphous thermoplastics which, due to their composition, combine the excellent properties of semi-crystalline polyamide 610 grades with those of an amorphous thermoplastic in a unique way.

This is highlighted in some of the exceptional characteristics which include high chemical and stress crack resistance.
