Grilamid

PA612 is also called polyamide 612 or nylon 612, and its composition is polydodecane diamide. In addition to the general characteristics of PA, PA612 also has the advantages of relatively small width, lower water absorption and density, good dimensional stability, high tensile strength and impact strength, and transparency.

High speed (slightly lower for reinforced materials). Runners and gates: Since PA612r solidifies very quickly, the location of the gate is very important. The gate aperture should not be less than 0.5*t (where t is the thickness of the plastic part). If a hot runner is used, the gate size should be smaller than that of a conventional runner, because the hot runner can help prevent the material from solidifying prematurely. If a submerged gate is used, the minimum gate diameter should be 0.75mm.

Through use of additives, fillers, pigments, plasticisers, modifiers or processing aids, Grilamid products are adjusted precisely to suit customer requirements and specific applications. It can also be used to make precision mechanical parts and wire and cable coatings, oil pipelines, oil-resistant ropes, conveyor belts, bearings, gaskets, etc. In military industry, it can be used to make gun stocks, helmets and military cables, etc.
